Earlier today we were made aware of a vulnerability in the current
OpenVZ Kernel, specifically dealing with SimFS. The direct report can be read
here - http://kb.parallels.com/en/122142
In
response to this, we have just rolled out our own patched kernel
that resolves this vulnerability. Unfortunately, a side effect of the update
is that the OpenVZ node must be rebooted for the changes to take effect.
At this time, all nodes are currently updating, and will be rebooting
and moving to the new kernel. Once each node comes back online, it
will automatically begin booting up VPSes. If more than two hours passes and
your VPS is still offline, please let us know so that we can have a look and
get you running again.
We apologize for the lack of notice, but in a
situation such as this security takes absolute priority over convenience.
Thank you for your patience, and if you have any questions or concerns,
please submit those via our Support System.
